Lic. María Fernanda Sánchez Pardo

Attorney at law from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City and an LLM in environmental law from the George Washington University, in Washington D.C. She has centered her activities in legislative and government policies in environmental, forestry and sustainable rural development issues as well as participating in public consultations for law reforms and elaboration of new laws and regulations. She has elaborated national and international comparative law analysis and collaborated in community rural capacity building. She carried out her social service in the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (PROFEPA). She has also collaborated with the environmental firm “Corporación Radian” in the area of legal aspects of environmental audits and studies. She has been member for six years of the non-government organization “Centro Mexicano de Derecho Ambiental A.C. (CEMDA) as responsible of the Forestry Program. She participated with the National Forestry Advisory Council (CONAF) as Coordinator of the Law and Regulation Committee. She is founding partner of a non-government organization whose name is “ENLACE legislación, ambiente y sociedad S.C. (ENLACE Ambiental)”. Having collaborated with CEMDA, she wrote a legal essay of the environmental repercussions of forestry policy and legal framework called “Estudio sobre la Política Forestal y su Marco Jurídico: repercusiones ambientales”. As ENALCE Ambiental, within a project of the WWF-Mexico, she did the adjustement and final version of a legal guide for forestry owners called: “Guía Legal par Dueños de Bosques en México”. Currently, she is the head of V&A Bajío office in León, Guanajuato.
